Job Description
You often see towering piles of natural resources like coal or sand in large industrial areas. Do you ever think, "Wow, who stacks them so neatly and precisely?" That's you if you choose an apprenticeship as a mineral processing mechanic. You can choose from five specializations: natural stone, lignite, ceramic raw materials, hard coal, and sand and gravel. Each of these materials requires different processing equipment – and you'll be the expert who masters the technology. Your apprenticeship as a mineral processing mechanic will teach you a great deal about the materials and processing techniques in the theoretical part. At your training company, you'll apply this knowledge directly. You'll operate impressive machines, process the respective materials into marketable products, and ensure proper storage and loading. Recycling construction waste and maintaining the machinery are also part of your responsibilities.

RETERRA Erden Süd GmbH

Innovation with Tradition.
As a pioneer in composting, we have prioritized the closed-loop material cycle from the very beginning. The result: the production of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and market-oriented products through successful recycling. Respect for nature and the responsible use of raw materials are our guiding principles now more than ever.
Resource conservation also extends to energy consumption: Since November 2024, we have operated a photovoltaic system in Remseck.
RETERRA Soils was one of the first manufacturers to produce a bio-substrate that meets the strict guidelines of the EU Organic Regulation.
With approximately 50 employees, we produce quality-controlled substrates at our plants in Remseck and Aichach: soil improvers, mulch products, ready-to-use potting soils, tree planting and green roof substrates, and organic products for all areas of horticulture, trade, landscaping, and parks departments.
At our plant in Öhringen, we operate a modern composting facility with a throughput of 51,500 tons per year as part of our overall concept. As a certified waste management company, we thus ensure access to high-quality and environmentally friendly additives for the production of our soils and substrates.
