Job Description
Brewers and maltsters (m/f/d) produce various types of beer, beer-based mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages. They steep barley to produce malt, which they then use to brew beer with water, yeast, and hops. To do this, they macerate the malt with water and lauter the resulting mash, separating the solids from the liquids. Next, they boil the mixture, add hops, cool it, and allow it to ferment. They monitor the fermentation process and control it according to specified parameters. Finally, they filter the beer and fill it into bottles, cans, or kegs. Their work primarily involves monitoring and operating machinery and computer-controlled systems, as beverage production is largely automated. They are also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the equipment.
