Expectations

  • a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss or M-Zug)
  • a secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent education and successfully completed state-regulated training as a nursing assistant (nursing or elderly care)
  • a successfully completed vocational training (training duration at least 2 years) and the medical fitness to practice the profession
  • Sufficient German language skills – at B2 level if you are not from Germany
  • It is recommended that you "get a taste" of the nursing field beforehand to gain experience and to realistically assess your career aspirations.
  • If you have already gained experience or completed internships in the nursing field, it is a good idea to include proof of this in your application documents.

Job Description

As a registered nurse, you can work with people of all ages in elderly care, general nursing, and pediatric nursing. Your tasks include providing care and support, such as assisting with personal hygiene or eating. You'll assist with examinations, administer medication, and prepare patients for surgery. Administrative and organizational tasks are also an important part of the job: planning, documenting, coordinating, admitting patients, managing medications, and many other duties ensure a varied and interesting workday. As a registered nurse, you can find work in hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing homes, hospices, facilities for people with disabilities, and in home care, depending on your interests and strengths. ... The interesting and varied assignments are divided into the following mandatory placements: Inpatient acute care (Ebersberg Hospital Munich East), Inpatient long-term care (senior centers), Outpatient acute/long-term care (social service centers), Pediatric care (children's hospital, etc.), Psychiatric care (psychiatric clinics). In addition, there are further assignments, e.g., in rehabilitative care and palliative care.
