Job Description

Early childhood educators care not only for children aged 3-6, but also for teenagers and school-aged children. Their role is to support and encourage children and young people in all areas and to address their individual needs. They work not only in kindergartens and nurseries, but also in women's shelters, boarding schools, after-school programs, youth centers, and residential homes, as well as in special education facilities (schools for children with disabilities). Working with infants and toddlers aged 0-3 is particularly demanding. The physical and mental development of these children is crucial and is fostered by early childhood educators. When working with children and teenagers, other priorities take precedence. They help with school-related or personal problems. Creativity plays a significant role in this profession. There is a lot of painting and crafting involved, for example, to prepare children for school. Youth work often incorporates experiential learning methods. This means that many excursions and activities are offered for teenagers.
