Job Description
The range of tasks for a road maintenance worker is very broad and varied. Their responsibilities focus on ensuring the navigability of roads, maintaining traffic safety, and the cost-effective upkeep of the road network. A significant component is snow removal and gritting in winter, as well as the maintenance of green spaces in summer. They also implement traffic regulations by erecting traffic signs, designate detours during road construction, and secure accident sites on roads.
The driver's license (B, C, CE) is paid for during the apprenticeship. Since the apprenticeship is with a public employer, the salary is good and the job is secure. In addition to the specialized training at the road maintenance depots, theoretical knowledge is taught at the vocational school in Würzburg. Practical courses at the inter-company training center in Gerolzhofen (Schweinfurt district) supplement the apprenticeship.
