Job Description

The range of tasks for a road maintenance worker is very broad and varied. Their responsibilities focus on ensuring the navigability of roads, maintaining traffic safety, and economically preserving the road network. A significant component is snow removal and gritting in winter, as well as the maintenance of green spaces in summer. They also enforce traffic regulations by erecting traffic signs, designate detours during road construction, and secure accident sites on roads. The driver's license (B, C, CE) is paid for during the apprenticeship. Because the apprenticeship is with a public employer, the salary is good and the job is secure.

Thank you for your interest in the Landshut State Construction Office and the building and road construction projects we manage. With our website, we aim to inform you about our work for the citizens and users of our buildings and roads. "We build for you!"—as it says on the construction site information boards—is something we take literally in both building and road construction. Our agency is divided into two departments. The Building Construction Department is responsible for civil construction projects of the Free State of Bavaria and the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as for construction projects of the German Armed Forces within our jurisdiction. The Road Construction Department is responsible for the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of federal and state highways in the districts of Landshut, Dingolfing-Landau, and Kelheim, as well as for the federal highways in the independent city of Landshut. The road maintenance depots in Landshut, Dingolfing, and Abensberg are responsible for road maintenance and winter services. We hope that on the following pages we can awaken your curiosity and understanding of our work and provide you with a general overview as well as useful information on current projects.
