Job Description

As a municipal administrative specialist, you perform various tasks in the offices and agencies of a specific area. You monitor compliance with applicable regulations and the implementation of official decisions within your area of responsibility. Key tools include administrative files and electronic data processing. During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to work with various regulations and how to find the appropriate solution when needed. You will be deployed in several exciting areas of administration, such as the residents' registration office, the building authority, or the vehicle registration office. Parts of the apprenticeship also cover the structure of the state and the role of public administration, the legal foundations of procurement and legal interventions, as well as proper administrative management and personnel management. As a municipal administrative specialist, you will have many career opportunities in municipal and district administrations or local government offices and agencies. The training takes place at the vocational school in Starnberg (two blocks of approximately 6-8 weeks each per school year) and at the Bavarian School of Public Administration (inter-company training; two blocks of approximately 2-3 weeks each per school year). During the courses at the Bavarian School of Public Administration, the trainees are accommodated in the school's dormitories, including those in Holzhausen am Ammersee and Lauingen an der Donau.

Landratsamt Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Olympiastraße 10
82467 Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The district office is headed by the district administrator and serves as both a local self-governing authority and a lower-level state administrative authority. The district office thus has a dual function. As a district administration, the district office possesses its own local self-governing authority. The district administrator and the district councils decide on matters concerning the district. As a state administrative authority, the district office performs tasks assigned to it by the Bavarian State Government or the Federal Government. These include, for example, the enforcement of the Bavarian Building Code by the building authority and the enforcement of hunting and firearms laws. In these areas, the district office does not have its own right of self-governance. The district office therefore acts for both the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Free State of Bavaria. You can see how the district office is organized to fulfill its tasks below.
