Job Description

Driving an ICE train at 300 km/h along the tracks as a train driver is a responsible experience – but it's even more fascinating when you're responsible for its smooth technical functioning. The dual degree program in Railway Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering prepares you for this demanding task. The theoretical curriculum begins with a basic engineering education, which is deepened by specialized knowledge in the planning, renovation, new construction, and maintenance of tracks, railway facilities, and control and safety technology. It's exciting when you directly apply this knowledge in the practical part of your studies and participate in concrete construction or renovation work. With your focus on Electrical Engineering, you'll delve into a particularly interesting field that lies at the heart of every railway drive system. You'll learn how to harness electrical energy, control control centers, and calculate entire energy supply networks. Practical Phase Content Participation in the Digital Rail Germany project Comprehensive insight into the key areas of railways and railway infrastructure Participation in on-site appointments (route inspections, measurements, and meetings) You will participate in various projects, e.g., the planning of electrical systems (lighting, switch heating, overhead lines, power supply, etc.)
