  • The employer will bear the costs for accommodation and part of the travel expenses during the study period in Hof.
  • You will receive 30 working days of vacation per year during your studies. These vacation days must be taken during your practical training.
  • You have the option to arrange your working hours flexibly and to use the applicable flexitime agreement.

Career Perspectives

  • After completing your dual studies, exciting and interesting tasks await you as a clerk or manager in the 3rd qualification level.
  • There are two different ways to complete a degree at the third qualification level at the Berchtesgadener Land district office:
  • 1. You will be hired as a trainee administrative inspector by the Berchtesgadener Land district. Your employer will then be the Berchtesgadener Land district.
  • In 2021, the district is offering one place for a trainee in the 3rd qualification level of the specialist career path in administration and finance, with a professional focus on non-technical administrative service.
  • 2. You will be hired by the Free State of Bavaria as a trainee government inspector and assigned to the Berchtesgadener Land District Office for your training. Your employer will then be the Free State of Bavaria.
  • The district provides training as needed. Upon satisfactory performance and passing the qualification exam, a probationary civil service position is planned.
  • If you are assigned to the district office as a candidate of the Free State, the situation is different:
  • The district office has a specific quota of civil servants allocated to it. Once this quota is met, you will be assigned to the government of Upper Bavaria or another district office after completing your training.
  • As soon as a position becomes available at the Berchtesgadener Land district office, you can submit an application for a transfer.
  • There is the possibility of promotion to the board of directors. With good performance, it is possible to reach the positions of the fourth qualification level through modular qualification.

Expectations

  • Completion of the Abitur (university entrance qualification) or the Fachhochschulreife (entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences)
  • successful participation in the selection process
  • The requirements for appointment to a civil service position must be met (German citizenship, health suitability, loyalty to the constitution)

Job Description

Are you interested in administrative tasks? Do you love sitting at a desk all day and losing track of time? Then become a graduate in Public Administration (FH)! As a civil servant in the higher service, you'll be responsible for administration and case processing in public authorities and agencies. You'll also take on leadership roles, such as supervising your staff. Furthermore, you'll monitor compliance with regulations (for example, in the public order office), advise citizens (for example, in the social welfare office), and plan projects (for example, in the federal ministry). Analyzing figures and facts (for example, at the Federal Statistical Office) and making administrative decisions (for example, in the immigration office) are also part of your daily work. As a graduate in Public Administration (FH), you can find work in the public sector in federal agencies (for example, in federal ministries or the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees), state agencies (for example, in state ministries), and local authorities (e.g., in town halls or the immigration office). The two-month internship at the government of Upper Bavaria in Munich is also particularly interesting.
