To do this, they learn all the essential techniques and fascinating facts about food – from meat and fish to plant-based cuisine and desserts. This solid foundation opens up a career path for young professionals in a wide variety of establishments: from traditional inns to business hotels, from large-scale kitchens to Michelin-starred restaurants, or even on a cruise ship. Cooking is both a craft and an art. But cooking is just the beginning; chefs are the professionals responsible for all processes and planning in and around the kitchen: purchasing, storage, and menu creation are all part of their job. They organize the kitchen and work collaboratively with the service staff. They always keep quality and guest satisfaction in mind.
