Various training options are available, differing in both duration and content. The schools are certified to accept applicants supported by the employment agency or job center. There is a program for every educational qualification. Those with a lower secondary school leaving certificate can begin with an assistant training program. Training to become a recognized specialist generally requires a higher secondary school leaving certificate or an assistant qualification. For the work-study program at cooperating universities in nursing and occupational therapy, a university entrance qualification is required.
